To Our Dear Friend, Ken Doucette,
Where has the time gone? I am sure it seems like only a few weeks ago that you began your exemplary careers! Nevertheless, here you are on the threshold of another phase in your life. On the occasion of your well-deserved retirement, we extend warmest congratulations and a hearty thank you.
Ken, you are a well-respected person and a passionate determined leader. You are the epitome of service before self - always putting the needs of others ahead.
An individual with strong compassion, it is no surprise, after an exceptional career in the Canadian Forces, that you pursued a position with the CFPSA. You brought perspective and critical thought to the CFPSA at a particularly demanding and important time. Let us assure you that you made a difference. As many has said, Ken Doucette always does the “right thing”, providing pertinent and relevant advice in the development of ways forward for the CF and CFMWS. In short, you have been brilliant. When challenged with adversity, you never lost your sense of humour, focus or resolve. Your even-handed mission-first leadership has always prevailed.
Thank you for your love of the Canadian Forces; thank you for your service to Canada, and special thanks for your humanity as you dealt with those who you met in your truly wonderful career.
Ken, Denise, and Paul, you are part of my family and I love you. Through the years, we now have extended our families and are blessed with grandchildren, who have enriched our lives and sure “put things” into perspective.
Take care my friend, and best wishes as you embrace the next phase of your life.
Yours truly,
Carla (Ryan) and Rick Findley
