Fay and I send you and Denise our most sincere congratulations on your imminent transition (not retirement!) to something better. You deserve and have earned the privilege of doing whatever you wish going forward in order to be happy, healthy, and in the moment with those you love, and who love you. We wish to thank you for your friendship and support over the past 10 years, especially with always finding the time to assist Fay and her team with the Natasha's Wood Foundation. For me personally, I consider my time in MARLANT with you in 2008-2010 to have been one of the most enjoyable and productive periods of my naval service. You were instrumental in helping us develop deeper trust-based relationships across all sectors in Halifax, from City Hall, to the big corporates, to the Mooseheads, and in so doing, Haligonians developed a new respect for those in service and their families, and just how much they mattered to the regional social fabric. Your Family Days were amazing, the 2009 Rockfest was unforgettable, the day Sid Crosby brought the Stanley Cup to dockyard was incredible, and all of the events around the Naval Centennial in 2010 were successful in no small part due to your leadership, initiative, and relentless drive. You really are a legend Ken, from your exceptional achievements as a senior leader in uniform, to the athletic talent that earned you a place in the CAF Sports Hall of Fame, to the manner in which you routinely displayed personal courage in challenging the NDHQ status quo in order improve PSP programs for our people and their families. But most of all Ken, you are just one hell of a good guy. It was never about you; it was always about the families. And therein lies your legacy, and one that you and your family can be very proud of. From Fay and I in Australia: Bravo Zulu and good on ya mate! Yours aye, Paul
